What is it useful for?
Mega Gyarados is a Water Dark type Pokémon that is very useful against Fire, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Psychic type raid bosses. Its bulk allows it to stay on the field for a long time and provide a long-lasting boost to Water and Dark type attacks. For GO Battle League, it’s useful in the Master League Megas format, however, Mega Pokémon currently cannot be used in any other GBL format.
Regular non-mega Gyarados is extremely useful in Master League and somewhat useful in Ultra League. It’s also a decent raid boss counter. Most notably, its Water typing gives it a double resistance to Ground type attacks, which is useful against Ground type raid bosses such as Primal Groudon.
How many players do I need?
Mega Gyarados can be defeated with 2-3 people.
What counters should I use?
Mega Gyarados is weak to Grass, Electric, Fighting, Fairy, and Bug type attacks.
